Porch Project
09/01/2012 17:09
Since I never remember to water the plants, the big dilema is what to put on the porch that won't need a lot of love and attention. I found these great sunflowers and thought they might work, especially with Fall around the corner. I wanted something with a little height just not the typical topiaries. I found some stone and bricks near one of the barns to hold everything in place, including the pots. There are some wicked storms in these parts! Bob shredded some of the limbs that had been gathered due to the major wind sheer that came through during the height of the summer. The wood chips and my limelight hydrangeas from home finished the arrangement. Now to get some pumpkins and my little DIY porch project will be complete!
First blog
08/22/2012 16:47Our new blog has been launched today. Very exciting! We've been able to stay at the farm for almost 2 weeks which has been awesome. It really feels like a second home. The house still has a few items on the "honey-do" list but it's very comfortable and liveable. We were able to be close to our son and feed him a few homemade dinners during football camp. My sister joined us for the second week as we explored new walking trails and checked out the local pool. The weather was great! One evening as the sun was setting on a gorgeous day, a pop-up rain shower joined the sunshine to produce a dazzling view with a double rainbow to top it off. Stunning! We'e now looking forward to the tailgaiting festivities and the season kickoff. Go Keydets!
